Task 502: Inter-JSON Consistency Cross-Checks
Status: DONE
Summary
Added 21 cross-checks verifying consistency between different calculation JSON files. Catches value drift between independently-generated analysis outputs.
Tests Added
relativistic_effects vs per-episode calculations (6 tests)
- EP01: brachistochrone72h peak velocity matches relativistic peak
- EP03: brachistochrone closest peak velocity close to relativistic peak (2% tolerance for distance scenario variation)
- EP04: massFeasibility first scenario peak matches relativistic peak
- EP05: brachistochroneByMass first scenario peak matches relativistic peak
- All β values ≈ v/c within relativistic correction (O(β²) tolerance)
- All γ values consistent with β via Lorentz formula (1/√(1-β²))
integrator comparison episodes exist (5 tests)
- EP01-EP05: each integrator comparison episode has a corresponding ep0X_calculations.json
3D orbital analysis internal coherence (10 tests)
- maxPlaneChangeFractionPercent matches max of transfer fractions
- coplanarApproximationValid consistent with fraction threshold
- Per-transfer: plane change ΔV non-negative (4 tests)
- Per-transfer: inclination change within 0-90° (4 tests)
Key Finding
Relativistic β differs from naive v/c by up to 6e-6 (at 2.5%c) due to proper relativistic momentum formulation. This is consistent with the expected O(β³) correction.
